Introducing the 7 New BAS to BCC Scholarship Recipients

Please read the BAS-BAC Spring 2021 newsletter to see the complete list of all the scholarship recipients.  Congratulations to the following new Recipients!

 

Aishwariya is from Nepal and speaks Nepali and Hindi.  She is concurrent student enrolled at both Berkeley Adult and at Berkeley City College and is thinking about Business as a career.

Issiaka is from Mali and speaks French, Bamanankan & Minianka.  He wants to be more comfortable in speaking English and rebuild his career as a nonprofit professional here in the US.

Mariam is from Ivory Coast and lives in the east bay with her family.  She has started in ESL courses and plans to continue studying.

Lizhen (Jenny) is from China is also concurrently enrolled at both Berkeley Adult School and Berkeley City College.  She writes “I hope I can graduate from college and find a job that I like and have a stable life here” with her family.

Lan (Amy) a former Chemistry teacher and manager, is also from China.  She is enrolled in ESOL courses at Berkeley City College while her son studies at UC Berkeley.

Ishuma is from Nepal and enrolled in her first semester at Berkeley City College studying ESOL and Math.

Brenda is from Mexico and started taking classes at Berkeley Adult School in 2015.  She is now in her 4th semester at Berkeley City College taking Trigonometry and Calculus 1.  She has 4 teenagers at home managing the difficult task of being a mother and full time student.
